- The Okefenokee is a national wildlife refuge, not a DNR WMA. Start at fws.gov/refuge/okefenokee.

Where can I hunt or walk public land in South Georgia?
WMA Scout answers the map question Hunt Tracker cannot: once you know a season is open somewhere in Georgia, which Wildlife Management Areas are actually nearby, how big they are, and what DNR says you can do there. It is a scout, not a regulation book.
Georgia DNR manages WMAs for wildlife and public access — hunting, fishing, birding, and in some cases camping. Each property has its own page with acreage, access notes, and hunt types. Quota hunts, youth hunts, and archery-only tracts are common. Treating a statewide firearms date as permission to walk onto a WMA is how people get turned around at the check station.
How to use it
Filter by county or activity, or share your location to sort by distance. Open the official WMA page for the tract you picked — that page and the current hunting guide are the rules. The green “statewide seasons today” card is copied from the same 2026–2027 guide that powers Hunting Season Tracker. Zone-only dates are skipped here on purpose.
Where the data comes from
Every acre count, hunt species list, camping claim, and access note was copied from that WMA’s page on georgiawildlife.com on August 30, 2026. We did not scrape DNR’s interactive map or invent coordinates from third-party blogs. Map pins are approximate centers so you can find the property — they are not gate pins. Common questions
Why isn’t every Georgia WMA here?
Because this site is built for South Georgia. Missing a tract is better than a guessed acreage. Tell us if a nearby official page is missing.
Why does the dashboard only list three WMAs?
The Outdoors Dashboard scores weather and fire danger for a short trip list. WMA Scout is the directory: more properties, official notes, no fake Go/No-Go for hunting.
